A Glass Of Wine.....

Having a glass of wine could do more than just enhance your food, it may preserve your memory for longer say doctors. New research show just one drink a dy may delay dementia in those at risk from the disease because they are already having memory problem.
According to the research, those who drank modest amount of alcohol developed dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, at an 85% slower rate than those who did not drink.
Neurology Experts said "little and often" for people wanting to protect their memory, as high levels of consumptions can lead to memory loss.
Well now it is official, have one glass of wine and save your heart as well as your brain.

When You Go Backpacking

I am sure everybody enjoys a hike. A bit of planing makes all the difference.
Here are few tips , hope they make a difference to your trip
  • Home made food wrapped in aluminium foil is good if you go on one day trip. Few fruits make a lot of difference.
  • If you are going for a longer duration carry lots of canned food.
  • Water is usually available , but do a bit of survey or ask the locals around, but definately carry chlorine drop, (for purifying ofcourse)
  • Carry a spare set of clothes and first aid kit, can come in handy.
  • You must must must carry cash, you never know when it comes handy.
  • A map, if available, and provided you know how to read it, is very important.
  • Few like minded friends, will be lots of fun.
  • And last but not the least, check out if any mode of communication , accomodation, food medical aid,etc is already available.

Recipe For CABBAGE LEMONEE DIP

Simple Dip for some untimely guest:
INGREDIENTS
1/2 Cup thick (hung) curd 1/2 cup chopped coriander
1/4 cup grated cabbage 3/4 tbsp garlic paste
2 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp white vinegar
1/4 cup oil 1/4 tsp mustard paste
1/2 tsp pepper pwd 1 small green chilli finely chopped
salt and sugar to taste

METHOD
Blend curd, garlic paste, vinegar, salt and sugar together. Add oil and lemon juice alternately while blending. Lastly add pepper powder, cabbage, mustard paste half the quantity of coriander and chilli.
To serve, transfer in a bowl and garnish with coriander and serve with bread pieces strips of pizza base, or as topping on a biscuits.

  • GET SOME SLEEP
  • A frequent traveller's best friend is a set of soft earplugs, neck pillowand eye covers. Lack

of sleep can make you moody, angry, and more vulnerrable to illness and stress.

  • AVOID ALCOHOL

Avoid alcohol or drinks with caffeine as it increase dehydration.

  • WORK THAT BODY

If your hotel has a good Gym, make use of it. Go for tht swim you really require. Or atleast

take that walk you really want. Everybody knows that physical activity is the most

effective stress buster. It will improve your problemsolving ability so that you can cope

better with challenges and opportunities. Even while flying, stretch your back, arm, leg muscles, when the seat belt is turned off . Squeeze a rubber ball or a pair of socks to stimulate good circulation and prevent jetlags.

  • EAT SENSIBLY

Eat lightly but strategically. High protein meals are likely to keep you awake, foods high in carbohydrates promote sleep, and fatty foods may make you feel sluggish.

  • TAKE NOTES

Writing down your feelings in a diary or on a blog,may help relieve stress.This shows

improved mental health.

New Style Quotes

I went through school believing I had some form of amnesia. Why else would I not remember a single quote? While the rest of the class could rattle them off at the drop of my pencil(which used to drop in awe when I heard them rattle off those quotes.
That was untill I read these. Now I know it wasn't amnesia. It was just that those so- called- pearls-of-wisdon were actually big-blobs -of -bull. Now these are ones worth remembering.
  • If you are born to a poor mother it's your faith, but if you marry a poor woman it's your stupidity.
  • Practice makes perfect. But nobody's perfect. So, why practice?
  • Since light travels faster than sound, people appear bright untill you hear them speak.
  • Money is not everything.There is also VISA and MASTERCARD.
  • Love thy neighbour. Just don't get caught.
  • "Hard work never killed anybody". But why be the first?

How to cope when you are single in a group

You are single and most of your friends are couples, what do you feel? Left out?
Well you don't have to feel that way any more. Help is at hand.
  • Don't feel sorry for yourself just because you don't have a friend with you where as every body around you have one. Come on you should have more fun as you have more to choose from.
  • Don't get into relationships for fun sake or just because everyone is in one.You'll only end up hurting yourself as well as others.
  • Make new friends, Mix and mingle with other single people. They are more fun. You get to know more people.
  • Be friendly and smile at other good looking guys/ gals.Don't be afraid to make the first move. Please try to avoid poaching on your friends' partner. Not actually worth it. You loose your friends too.
  • Go out in groups . Just because your friends are in relationship doesn't mean they are no longer your friends.
  • Don't ever take sides when couples are fighting among themselves, unless you know both side of the story( even if you know , try and avoid taking sides) They will get back together after sorting their problems, but they will remember who you sided with during their conflict.
