DRINK YOUR WAY TO GOOD HEALTH

Alcohol may halve your risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis, according to researchers. They found that those who drink up to ten units a week reduce their risk of the disease by 50 percent. A unit is roughly equivalent to a glass of wine or a small beer.
Previous studies have indicated that moderate drinking may have a beneficial role in heart disease, stroke, some form of cancer and perhaps Alzheimer’s.
The latest research was presented recently at the annual European Congress of Rheumatology in Barcelona. Henrik Kallberg, of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm said his research showed that consuming three or more units was associated with 50 percent drop in the risk in developing rheumatoid arthritis.
That was enough to offset the risk of developing the disease caused by smoking or genetic factors. According to his analysis of 2,075 Swedes with and without the crippling joint disorder. He said it is likely that alcohol suppressed the immune system and damped down the inflammatory process behind the condition. He said, “These data now show not only that alcohol can protect against rheumatoid arthritis and reduce the risk conferred by smoking or susceptible genes, but also gives an idea of doses necessary.”

IF YOU ARE STRANDED IN FLOOD

Mumbai Monsoon is back with a bang. Are you flood proof? Remember 26/7?
Here are few precautions you can take if you are caught in a flood like situation and you are stuck in a car.
If there is a flood warning, don’t drive or go out unless it is an absolute emergency.
If you must drive during a flash flood warning, avoid low-lying roads or areas that tend
to collect water.
Never drive through standing water. You cannot assume the depth of water or how
fast its current is. It takes only two feet of water to move a car.
If the water around your car starts rising, get your windows down so you have an
escape route if necessary.
Keep a hammer in your car, so you can break your car window if it gets stuck or
jammed.
Be pushy. Try and maneuver you’re your car on a footpath, park it as safely and as
unobtrusively as possible, get out and get into the nearest building.
Hope you don’t get into this kind of situation, but if you do, do remember these tips.

WALK YOUR WAY TO GOOD HEALTH

One of the most positive things you can do to improve your health is to go out walking.
• It helps to reduce your blood pressure.
• It helps to reduce high blood cholesterol.
• Help you reduce your weight and maintain it.
• It reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes.
• It lessens the risk of breast cancer.
• It improves self esteem.
• It relives symptoms of depression and anxiety.
• It boosts your energy levels.
• It strengthens joints and bones.
• It reduces lower back pain.
• It strengthens the heart and reduces the risk of coronary and strokes.
• It helps build up your muscle strength.
• It helps reduce stress and worry.
I am sure looking at all these points, walking is the cheapest means by which you can improve your health. More over you don’t require any expensive equipment to walk.
Just open space. If you have good jogging track, then nothing like it.
You can take a walk at any time, morning, night, evening. So guys just put up your walking shoes and start walking. GOOD LUCK.

WHEATGRASS JUICE- A WONDER DRINK

1. Wheatgrass juice is 70% chlorophyll.

When Travelling Alone....

Going on a trip alone? Few simple precautions make all the difference
. Try not to travel alone at night.
. Don’t use short cuts, narrow alleys or poorly lit streets.
. Don’t discuss travel plans or other personal matters with strangers.
. Learn few phrases in the local language so you can signal your need for it.
. When you rent a car, don’t go for exotic location when you are all alone.
. Never carry large amount of cash.
. Don’t show your valuables.
. Be vary of consuming too much alcohol which can impair your judgement
. Don’t get into altercation with a biker.
. If you are confronted, don’t fight back, give up your valuables, your money and passport
can be replaced but you can't be.
. Keep your head about you and you will be fine.
Well these are just a few tips . I am sure you all know them. They were just for reminders.

Banana - An Amazing Fruit

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator! !!

This is interesting. After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
